I think it's totally wrong and unless a girl was forced against her will (rape), I think it is horrible. And even if a girl is raped, still...

I can't believe that some people really do this. I can understand why some pregnant teens would consider it but this should still never be done. I mean what if the parents regret it afterward? Even if they don't want it they can just put it up for adoption. I mean at least the baby will still be alive and be with a family who actually wants him/her. Abortions are wrong and should never be done. Mad

Abortion is one of the greatest moral and political evils of our time. The State (the federal government) declares that unborn children are somehow less deserving of their natural rights than every other class of human beings. This is government-sanctioned discrimination, plain and simple.

To kill a human being for the sake of convenience is still murder no matter what you call it. You can label it choice. You can label it a woman's right. You can label it nothing more than the termination of pregnancy. It's still murder all the same. The fact that you are taking the life of a human being, a member of your own species, is nothing short of despicable.

If we can't respect life in its earliest stages, then how can we respect life at all? Civilian deaths caused by violent and aggressive warfare are now considered nothing but a statistic. The State treats brave, determined young males as a tool for its "enlightened" (but fatally flawed) ends overseas. Kids are killing kids at higher rates than ever before. We have parents ditching their moral responsibilities because, apparently, a baby has no rights.

There are those who say individual state restrictions on abortion are the stuff moral legislation is made of. Are restrictions on murder moral legislation?

There are those who say that every pregnant couple has a right to determine when life begins. If a couple determines that life doesn't begin until forty, can they murder everyone under forty?

There are those who say that people have a right to their own body. This is true. But is a fetus really a woman's body? It's an uninvited parasite, pro-abortionists say. But did the couple not invite a baby in when they decided to have sex? After all, contraception is not an absolute guarantee that the couple will not be impregnated.

There are those who say that the fetus is not human. If that were true, wouldn't it be the same as an egg produced by two chickens mating? Would people ask a pregnant couple how their baby was doing, as opposed to their "parasite," "formation of cells," or "blob of tissue?"

Choice is essential to a free society. The government should leave people to their lives and the market to its mechanisms. But isn't killing an unborn baby infringing upon its inherent right to live? Isn't taking its life taking its future? Isn't life the most essential liberty of all? After all, without life, there are no other rights. If you're going to defend liberty, you have to defend life. The right to life is, without a doubt, the most important right there is.

I'm sure there are some! Just because you disagree, doesn't mean your wrong. I won't say anything bad if you disagree with us; it's just an opinion!! That's what makes humans unique Wink

@ Michelle- Now that was a post!!! I like the dedication Wink

@Ahmadinejad: I'm sure there are other Democrats and liberals on this forum, but I know how it feels to hold positions that others do not. It has happened to me on many other forums, where I was one of very few conservatives. On one forum, I am the only one arguing that Lincoln was a tyrant who had total disregard for the Constitution and that the Southern states had both a Constitutional and a natural right to secede. Every single liberal and conservative is up against me. It's okay to have a different opinion, my dear, and constructive debates are very healthy. They reaffirm your principles and make them even stronger. You can trust me on that one. Wink

I see. I actually kind of went the opposite way, I've found myself agreeing less with Democrats more now (well just the SJW/Politically Correct types anyways). It's kind of funny how things turn out over the course of almost 7 years. Although I still also feel pretty much feel the same about this topic as I did back when I started this topic, lol.

I'm in the middle. If we had a great adoption system and support systems. Sadly we don't have those though.

I'll hopefully be a successful playboy billionaire philanthropist in the next 6 years.

If only we could all be geniuses like Tony Stark!

Yeah, if we had a better adoption system and better healthcare in general perhaps maybe then. To this day I still don't think we should be forcing parents to have kids who they don't want or can afford to have. We already have a lot of grown adults who are completely unqualified to raise a kid properly, the last thing we need are (even) more teenagers who are completely unqualified also.

Indeed. When it comes to the state supporting the children that are born in those situations, they don't want to,saying it's not their problem. You have to pick between one case or the other.

Sort of like if the garbage man retires, and the town has no garbage man. Then everyone says we need one, but then when it's discussed, nobody wants to assist in hiring a new garbage man. Then when the garbage isn't picked up,everyone complains about the garbage piling up.

Garbageman is probably a bad analogy in this situation, lol.

Well it does feel like a real garbageman situation, since it's something people never stop talking about, but nobody is actually willing to propose any realistic (and practical) middle ground solution to it.
